Retaining & seating walls · Palm Beach County

Walls that hold ground and host guests.

A wall can do two jobs at once: hold back soil and a grade, or wrap a patio in built-in seating. We build both to last in Florida ground.

Retaining and seating wall at a Palm Beach home
Why pavers

Retaining and seating walls done the right way.

Retaining walls do quiet, important work: holding a slope, leveling a usable yard, and keeping soil and water where they belong. Done wrong, they bulge, lean, and fail, usually because the drainage behind them was an afterthought.

Seating walls do the opposite job, turning the edge of a patio or terrace into built-in seating that never has to be stored or stacked. The same block system can define a space, frame a garden, or wrap a terrace.

Either way, the engineering matters more than the face. We build the base, the backfill, and the drainage behind the wall so it stays straight and solid through years of Florida rain.

Holds the grade

Levels your yard

A proper retaining wall turns an unusable slope into flat, functional space and keeps soil from washing away.

Built-in seating

Always ready

A seating wall wraps a patio or terrace in permanent seating that never needs to be stored or rearranged.

Built to last

Drainage done right

Gravel backfill and a proper drain path give heavy Florida rain somewhere to escape, so pressure never builds up behind the wall.

Our standard

What every install includes.

No corners cut beneath the surface. Every project is built on the same foundation, written into your estimate up front.

Most failed retaining walls fail because water built up behind them. We build the drainage and backfill correctly so Florida rain has somewhere to go and the wall stays put.

Questions

Good to know.

Why do some retaining walls bulge or lean over time?

Almost always because of poor drainage. Water builds up behind the wall and pushes it forward. We engineer the base, backfill, and drainage so water escapes and the wall stays straight, which is the part you do not see but matters most.

Can a wall be both retaining and seating?

Yes. A low wall can hold a small grade and double as seating, and we often wrap patios and terraces in seating-height walls. We design the height and cap so it is comfortable to sit on.

What can the wall face be made of?

We build with segmental wall block, natural and stacked stone, and finished concrete block, and we match or complement your pavers and the home so the wall belongs to the design.

Do tall retaining walls need a permit?

Often yes, especially above a certain height, and we handle the permitting and build to Palm Beach County code. We will tell you up front what your project requires.

What does a wall cost?

It depends on height, length, material, and whether it is structural or decorative, so the on-site visit and written estimate are free and itemized. Financing through Wisetack is available.
